Looking for a home ~ October 2010

We arrived in Germany on September 27, 2010. After about ten days of doing nothing but watching tv in our temporary appartment, walking to the grocery store, and eating Nutella, our brains needed some useful employment.  Well, we needed to begin our quest for a house.  Thankfully, {it being no simple task} our brains were given sufficient exercise.
Apart from Dad getting accustomed to the driving, one of the major benefits of searching for a house was the opportunity to see the place we will be inhabiting for awhile.  It was the first time we could look out our windows and view the plenteous villages with their crumbly old buildings and stately churches, all being surrounded by a saturated green landscape.
After many calls {having 5 children, and 2 pets certainly did nothing to persuade people to letting us rent from them} and a few visits, at the end of October we found a house in Otterberg.  It happens to be an exceptionally swell village with a yummy bakery that is reached by a quick walk down the hill from our house.  And you can even work off the pounds you accumulated from all the scrumptious treats at the bakery by simply walking back up the hill!  Behind our neighborhood is a long path easing through wide, hilly fields bordered with dark trees and forests.  We are thankful for finding a house in a location that proves to be quite charming, indeed.
